Designing a check-in that doesn't require a front desk

A short note about the website you’re reading.

We commissioned Miami Web AI, a studio of three based on Brickell, to build the digital infrastructure behind Casa Brickell: the booking engine, the photography pipeline, the journal you’re reading right now. They worked over five days in late April, mostly from the third-floor study, and the calendar was live by Friday.

The brief was simple: build us something that doesn’t look like the kind of website a Brickell rental usually has. We don’t compete with Aman, but we compete with sites that try to look like Aman, and most of them try and fail in identical ways.

What landed surprised us. The reservation flow is direct — no OTA, no commission — but more importantly, the back-of-house is the part the guest never sees but the host lives in. The owner-side calendar, the message templates in three languages, the payout ledger threaded into Stripe: it is the half of the build a hotelier knows is the actual work.

For inquiries about commissioning their studio, the directory is here. They occasionally take new commissions.
