WorkA-1 American Driveway

A-1 American Driveway. A site in two languages. A desk for the crew.

A-1 paves driveways and parking lots in Miami-Dade and southern Broward. We built their site in English and Spanish. We also built A-1 Desk. The staff run each job there, from estimate to deposit.

Four tools and a phone. Now one record per job.

Before

  • Each job lived in four different tools.
  • The phone tied them together.
  • A quote could go out for the wrong city.

Now

  • One job record holds every step.
  • Each job shows the next thing to do.
  • The county's own data names the city before a quote goes out.

The brief. What it had to do.

A-1 American Driveway LLC paves driveways, parking lots and walkways in Miami-Dade and southern Broward. We built two things for them. The first is their public site in English and Spanish. It has 61 pages in each language, 122 in all. You can ask for an estimate there and send photos. Guides cover materials, planning and permits. The second is A-1 Desk, where the staff run each job. One record holds every step, from the first request to the day the job closes. Live at aadriveway.com.

A-1 sells in English and Spanish. They quote from measurements. They can't start a job until the right city or county issues a permit. The city on a mailing address is often not the one that issues the permit. So a quote based on the address alone can be wrong before the crew leaves the yard.

Each step of a job lived in its own tool: estimate, proposal, signature and deposit. Staff used the phone to tie them together.

What it had to do

  • Let people ask for an estimate and send photos. It works in English and Spanish.
  • Answer what homeowners look up before they call: which material, what it costs and what a permit takes.
  • Give the crew one place to run a job from start to finish.
  • Know who issues the permit before a quote goes out.

What we had to work around

  • The material photos show sample finishes, not A-1 jobs. The captions say so.
  • A-1 shows how they work. The site carries no star ratings or quoted reviews.
  • Card payments add a 3% convenience fee on its own line. Check, bank transfer and cash do not.
  • Once a document is signed, it can never change.
  • Links for customers and permit runners open only what that person needs. They expire, and staff can cancel them. They never show pricing or staff notes.
  • Training Mode is kept apart from real jobs. It can't touch their files, signatures or payments.

What we built. Open it and check it.

  1. 01A public site in English and Spanish: 61 pages in each, 122 in all. It has three topic hubs and 25 guides. The guides cover materials, projects, planning and permits. It also has six articles and 12 city pages.
  2. 02Estimate and contact forms that take up to five photos. A hidden field catches spam bots. The thank-you page opens only for someone who just sent the form.
  3. 03Drawings of paver patterns and of the layers that make up a pavement. The layer drawing uses facts from the EPA and the U.S. highway agency. Sliders let you compare two finishes.
  4. 04A-1 Desk, where the staff run each job. It takes in requests and has a calculator for asphalt, pavers and concrete. It makes PDFs and collects signatures online. Each signature locks a copy of the document as it was signed. Deposits go through Stripe, and a log records who did what.
  5. 05A check of Miami-Dade property records that shows who issues the permit. A-1 can quote land in the county outside any city. Three cities are blocked. Any other city goes to a person first.
  6. 06A public file that tells AI tools how A-1 wants the site read.

The calls we made. And why.

  1. 01

How do we know who issues the permit?

We read the county's record for the property. It shows which city, if any, the land is in. We never go by the mailing city.

    Why

The two differ often enough that we can't trust the mailing city. A-1 can work on land in Miami-Dade outside any city. Miami, Miami Beach and Coral Gables are blocked. Any other city goes to a person first.

  2. 02

A CRM or a job record?

A job record. It shows the next step and holds the tools for that step.

    Why

The crew needs to know what happens next on this job. A general CRM does not tell them that. Every step, from start to finish, lives on the same record.

  3. 03

    What does a signature sign?

A copy of the proposal saved at the moment of signing. The PDF and the signature both point to that copy. It never changes.

    Why

If the terms could change later, the signature would prove nothing.

  4. 04

Two sites, or one site in both languages?

One site. Every guide has the same parts in both languages: title, intro, sections, FAQs and sources.

    Why

The Spanish site is a full site. Each language gets the whole page. The site map lists both, so search engines find both.

Measured outcomes.

Each figure comes from the build or from the client's own checks. Its source sits beside it. The client has not given us a business result, so we show none.

122 / 122Pages checked in both languagesEvery English and Spanish page passed the final check. All 146 links worked. We tried 14 fake or broken web addresses. Each one got the right “page not found” reply.
49 / 49Page and screen-size checksSeven pages at seven screen widths, from 320 to 1440 pixels. That includes a phone turned on its side. Every image loaded, and nothing ran off a 320-pixel screen.
12 / 12Form tests passedTests of the estimate and contact forms. They check each field, how the customer wants to be reached, the spam trap and the thank-you page. They ran on test data. They show the code works, but not that a real request reached the inbox.
345Code packages checked for known flawsA scan of the 345 outside code packages the site runs on found no known security flaws. A full scan of all 665 found none either.

How it went. Step by step.

  1. May 2026Site fixes and the estimate formWe took over the public site from its starter build. We made it more secure. We added the estimate and contact forms with photos.
  2. Jul 2026A-1 DeskThe staff desk went live on 30 July. A calculator for all three materials came on 3 August.
  3. Aug 2026Hand-off notesWe wrote guides to install and run the desk. A new developer can set it up on a new computer without us.
  4. Sep 2026New design, both languagesWe rebuilt the site and the estimate form in both languages. All 122 pages passed their check, and so did all 49 screen-size checks. The security scan came back clean.
